As a telecom pioneer, Liz Sorino has shattered the glass ceiling to help build one of the region’s most innovative voice, data and cloud entities, Xtel. Sorino co-founded Xtel with Donald Flynn over 28 years ago with a mission to empower organizations with the technology needed to improve communications. Today, led by her unwavering support, Xtel is a nationally recognized Carrier that owns, operates and maintains its own state-of-the-art network and fiber optic backbone. Recently, Sorino launched Xtel’s third data center to further its reach.
Over the course of her career, Sorino has established herself as a trusted expert in future-focused technologies like Unified Communications, Dedicated Internet Access and SD-WAN, becoming a true work-from-anywhere trailblazer. Her passion for solving IT challenges has positioned Xtel as the single-source telecom provider for the region’s top organizations, including the School District of Philadelphia and many law firms, healthcare providers and government entities.
Sorino serves as Xtel’s EVP and is actively involved in closing the digital divide by promoting high-quality broadband for anchor institutions and their communities via SHLB (The Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband) Coalition. She has been highlighted in the South Jersey Business Journal as an “Executive of the Year” and a “Woman to Watch.”
